چکیده
Background: Non-coding microRNAs (miR) regulate gene expression on post transcriptional level and open new perspectives of prognostic stratification as potential biomarkers head neck cancer. The aim was to investigate diagnostic implications miR-182-5p miR-205-5p in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCCs).

Plasma levels of microRNA-24, microRNA-320a, and microRNA-423-5p are potential biomarkers for colorectal carcinoma
BACKGROUND MicroRNAs are stable and easy to detect in plasma. The plasma levels of microRNAs are often changed in disease conditions, including cancer. This makes circulating microRNAs a novel class of biomarkers for cancer diagnosis. Analyses of online microRNA data base revealed that expression level of three microRNAs, microRNA-24 (miR-24), microRNA-320a (miR-320a), and microRNA-423-5p (miR-...
متن کاملMicroRNA-196a-5p is a potential prognostic marker of delayed lymph node metastasis in early-stage tongue squamous cell carcinoma
MicroRNAs (miRs) are expected to serve as prognostic tools for cancer. However, many miRs have been reported as prognostic markers of recurrence or metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients. We aimed to determine the prognostic markers in early-stage tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC). Based on previous studies, we hypothesized that miR-10a, 10b, 196a-5p, 196a-3p, and 196b were pro...
متن کاملInduction Chemotherapy for p16 Positive Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS We aimed to determine the effectiveness of induction chemotherapy for treating p16-positive oropharyngeal cancer in our department. STUDY DESIGN This was a retrospective case series to assess treatment effectiveness. METHODS We administered induction chemotherapy to patients with stage III to IV oropharyngeal p16-positive squamous cell carcinoma between 2008 and 2013. ...
متن کاملAsymptomatic p16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma: an emerging trend.
IMPORTANCE The rapid increase of human papillomavirus-associated oropharyngeal cancer has demonstrated a need for new strategies in prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment. Because there are currently no available screening technologies to detect early disease, a trend of purely incidentally identified asymptomatic p16-positive squamous cell carcinoma has been observed. We identify and...
متن کاملPlasma microRNA profiling in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients reveals miR-548q and miR-483-5p as potential biomarkers
MicroRNAs (miRNAs), which play a role in tumorigenesis, may also serve as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers. However, studies on human miRNA profiles in plasma from nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients are in their infancy. Here, we used microarrays to perform systematic profiling of human miRNAs in plasma from NPC patients. We subsequently used real-time quantitative polymerase chain reac...
